Abstract:Based on ecological and geobatanic principles, basic approach and method for building green areas in cities were proposed to ensure the stability andsustainable development of urban vegetation and to improve the overall quality of urban gardening and greening. Simulation of region-specific vegetation was applied in construction of urban vegetation. The flora and climate zone to which the city belongs as well the types of region-specific vegetation were identified. According to the type of region-specific vegetation and its dominant species, considering species composition, structure, appearance and species diversity of urban vegetation, deployment of gardening plants and ecological design should be made by matching species with site, so as to achieve the goal of low cost, rapid effects, strong adaptability, beautiful landscape, stability and safety.
